Frequently Asked Questions

There are always many questions from potential clients so we have listed some of the most commonly asked. If there is something that is not covered then please contact us

What geographical area do you cover?

We are based in Milton Keynes and so cover the city and surrounding areas primarily, but also include Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire & Northamptonshire depending on the location required.

Do you shoot in a studio?

Most of my portrait photography is probably best described as contemporary and involves location shooting. 'Lifestyle' photography with more informal shots has become more common and often clients wish to have photos taken in their own home or a favourite location. If appropriate we can bring studio lighting to you however it does require a reasonable amount of space so we would discuss this with you.

What should I wear for my session?

In brief I’d generally recommend to wear something that is comfortable, avoid strong or contrasting colours and logos. If there’s a more than one person in shot consider clothing that doesn’t clash.
Your photo’s are an investment and there are good reasons for the above advice, I’d recommend following my link to Portrait advice section for a bit more information

How long do the sessions last?

Typically between 30 minutes to an hour, however it depends on what the clients wishes are, sometimes for example they wish to use more than one location.

Is there a limit to the number of photos you take?

The only limit is imposed by the length of the shoot, I take as many photos and different shots as is possible in the time available.

Do you produce Black & White shots?

Of course, as you can see in the galleries. Photos are all taken in colour and in Post Production we can convert to Black & White, Sepia, pick out colours etc. Our experience is that the same photo can appear to have a quite different appeal between colour and B&W so we offer you the choice of both at no extra charge.

How much do your Photos cost?

Many sites do not list prices however we do. When you are purchasing prints you are investing in a quality product and my part is to produce that for you. All packages will include some printed shots as part of the session with additional prints available to order, these vary in price from depending upon print size. See our pricing details for more information.

Please note that there is no obligation to purchase extra photos

As well as Prints can we have copies of the photos on a CD / DVD?

Copies are available on CD/DVD at an additional cost. These would be supplied as high resolution files suitable for printing along with lower resolution files for web use.
With the advent of Digital photo frames and their increasing popularity we also offer a package of digital files optimised for use.
For more details see our pricing information.

When can I see my photos and how will I choose which photos I wish to have printed?

Our website provides a Client login area to preview your photos, these are normally available in around five to seven days from the date of the shoot. We will contact you with login details once your photos are available so you can view them. When you have made decisions on which photos then contact us to discuss the next stage.

Are you CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked?

Yes, I’m happy to produce the paperwork to confirm this if you wish. Why isn’t their logo used on my site to promote this? It’s best to explain this using their own statement ;
‘We do not allow or permit Registered or Umbrella Bodies to use these logos as they can often be used in a way that would suggest that the CRB promotes or endorses the service of the organisation making use of it’

When do we pay for our orders?

Every image is printed to order and obviously can only be sold to you, so orders are only accepted with full payment prior to supply

Do prices include VAT?

All prices quoted on this website include VAT
